Event Details
Get in touch with the natural world & printmaking—join us for a fun and creative NW Native Plant Printmaking Workshop! Tacoma printmaker Yoshi Nakagawa will guide you through the process of rolling on oil-based ink on the plants with a brayer, and hand printing on Japanese shodo paper with a spoon to take home. We can add color with water-based pigments. Be a naturalist & artist with no experience necessary!
Meet Your Instructor
Yoshi is a Tacoma-based visual artist, specializing in printmaking since 1999. She pulled her first print at the University of Puget Sound, and honed her craft in Seattle and Oaxaca, Mexico. Her artwork is influenced by patterns of the natural world and Japanese textiles, along with her experiences living in Oaxaca, Japan, and the Pacific Northwest. She has exhibited and taught workshops regionally and internationally.
The workshop is free, produced by Tacoma Arts Live with the support from the City of Tacoma’s BRAYVE Initiative.
