Event Details
Festival Herencia Latina returns to the Tacoma Armory for its 9th year.
Enjoy live performances of music and dance, visual arts, traditional latine food, and our mercadito with local vendors reflecting the diversity of latine communities. With five hours of free music, dance, art, crafts, food and hands on activities, Festival Herencia Latina welcomes community members of all ages to explore the rich tapestry of Latin American heritage that is reflected in the Latinx communities of our region!
A mercadito – or little market –will feature dozens of Latinx visual artists and vendors offering handmade jewelry, imported and local handcrafts, and small-batch creations. Additionally, various nonprofit and advocacy organizations serving the Latinx and broader communities will be on hand with information and resources.
This year’s theme, Dignidad (Dignity), honors the strength, diversity, and cultural contributions of Latine communities across our region.

2:00 p.m. – Alma Villegas y Azúcar (Latin Jazz & Boleros)
4:00 p.m. – Hijos de Agüeybaná (Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba drum & dance)

11:00 a.m. – Cumbia Dance Workshop with Adri “La Pollita”
12:30 p.m. – Bilingual Children’s Storytime with Tacoma Public Library
1:00 p.m. – Cadena de Cuetos storytelling workshop with Claudia Castro-Luna and Jessica Vega
2:15 p.m. – Workshop with Huehca Omeyocan (Mexican Aztec Dance)
3:00 p.m. – Tango “Milonga” class with Sol de Noche
