You belong here! Seeking small businesses to grow with us
Tacoma Arts Live is taking care of business - your business! Rooted in our commitment to the community, Tacoma Arts Live is pleased to announce its new small business incubator, ACE (Accelerating Creative Enterprise).
Have you started a small business or developed a vision for a nonprofit? Are you in need of space to realize your dream? Tacoma Arts Live wants to work with you.
Our new project supports women and BIPOC-owned/led creative enterprise with:
- Rent-free office and conference space at the historic Tacoma Armory
- Professional development workshops for small businesses, emerging nonprofits, and creative professionals
- Event sponsorship to help you turn your vision into a major event at the Armory or beyond
This latest project aims to transform the Armory into a hub for arts, culture, and community while elevating community-led micro enterprise by supporting working creative professionals, owners of small businesses, and nonprofit visionaries. Along the way, we hope to contribute to the economic vibrancy of the Hilltop and its residents.
If one of the following describes you, we want to hear from you:
- A woman or BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color) small business person (with an established business or new business idea)
- A small business person located in or focused on serving the Hilltop neighborhood
- A woman or BIPOC leader developing a new nonprofit idea
- A woman or BIPOC creative professional looking to take your "gig work" or "side hustle" to the next level (actors, musicians, dancers, writers, theater techs, craft-makers, etc.)
The initial phase of the project runs through June 1, 2023 and will include the following:
- House up to 18 women/BIPOC led small businesses and/or emerging nonprofits in two of the commercial grade office suites on the lower level of the Armory
- Support up to three major events at the historic Tacoma Armory and other venues for small entities that could not otherwise access these spaces
- Provide professional development workshops for creative professionals, small business people and nonprofit developers
Tacoma Arts Live is also seeking organizations and individuals to provide the abovementioned workshops for creative entrepreneurs. If you are a workshop presenter and would like to be considered, please see our:
